Become a part of the largest and most inclusive gene and cell therapy community. Network with top researchers and clinicians from academia and bio-industry while working alongside patient and foundation advocates.

With over 6,000 members in the United States and worldwide, ASGCT is the largest association involved in genetic and cellular therapeutics. When individuals join ASGCT, they contribute to a unique multidisciplinary group. ASGCT provides individuals with an opportunity to network, present research at the ASGCT Annual Meeting, and to promote education about gene and cell therapy advances and challenges.


Types of Membership

  • Member

    Individuals who have demonstrated a professional interest in gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery are eligible for membership. Members include researchers and clinicians from academia and bio-industry as well as representatives from foundations and patient advocacy groups.

  • Associate Member

    Associate membership is available for postdoctoral fellows and for both graduate and undergraduate students. Laboratory managers, assistants, technicians, and other clerical positions in gene and cell therapy research programs also qualify. Associate Members are encouraged to submit abstracts to the Annual Meeting, receive discounts for ASGCT events, and are eligible for travel awards.

  • Transitional Member

    Individuals participating in gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field who are in a period of career transition are eligible for Transitional Membership for a maximum of two years. Transitional Membership status offers the same privileges as Members, but at a reduced dues rate.
